Combi SCE 20-25 CPM
The SCE is a revolutionary new case erector from IPS Packaging with a programmable servo drive system that is capable of erecting cases at speeds up to 30 cases per minute. This new approach to case erecting is more flexible and reliable than traditional fixed speed mechanical case erectors with complex line shafting. The SCE utilizes “Electronic Line Shafting” technology by coordinating three intelligent servo motors to erect and bottom seal a wide range of cases. The SCE is a simple, quiet, and reliable system with fewer moving parts than mechanical systems, resulting in less wear, more uptime, and better cases.

Mode of Operation
Cases are loaded vertically into the case magazine. The servo drive system pulls a case from the bottom of the stack and pre-stages the case to the opening station. The case is then opened by 2 sets of opposing vacuum cups. The bottom minor flaps are then closed prior to the release of the vacuum cups. The dual indexing lugs then push the case through a tape head or hot melt application station. For the taping option, the case is “cammed” through the taping process. This camming involves deceleration of the case as the tape is applied to the leading and trailing edges of the case. This along with the dual indexing lugs and positive case opening delivers a square and tightly sealed case every cycle.
Quick Changeovers
The SCE also assures quick repeatable changeovers. The operator enters the actual case dimensions and desired speed into the touch panel, and the SCE is ready to run the new case at the given speed. The motorized height adjustments and recessed hand cranks for machine adjustments assure changeovers in under 10 minutes.
