Plastics have long been a common solution for many packaging strategies, but one specific form of the material is growing increasingly common among many producers and distributors.

The use of poly resin within the packaging industry is quite varied. From the creation of bags to bottles and various containers, the flexibility of the material allows it to be used in a number of different settings, thus allowing it to become the go-to packaging material for many manufactures.

With demands for more recyclable goods trending upward and businesses focusing on establishing quantifiable value and quality, the poly market is classifying specific plastics, such as polypropylene plastics, more attractive than others. There are a number of advantages to the use of polypropylene material making it a strong choice for companies of varying industries.

GNC incorporates polypropylene resin

One of the major companies using the polypropylene resin in its packaging is the nutrition retailer GNC. The business recently released a new line of health drinks that will use compression-molded polypropylene caps for its beverages, according to Healthcare Packaging Magazine.

Healthcare Packaging Magazine explains that the company selected the caps for their look and consumer safety while also providing maximum performance. In an economy driven by both consumer demand and brand loyalty, it is essential to meet each challenge with efficiency.

Polypropylene tackles temperature challenges

The use of polypropylene resin is also increasing throughout the country in the production of "to-go" cups. Versalite, introduced by Berry Plastics Group, implemented the material into their "to-go" cup, creating a "fully-recyclable thermal management packaging solution" capable of handling both hot and cold liquids, according to Azom.com.  According to the company, 8 out of 10 market tests showed that the new company's cup ranked higher than its major competitors - appealing both to increased demands for flexibility and sustainability.
