Tall boxes, sometimes referred to as telescopic, are at least 2-3 times as high as they are wide. The opening is on either side on the smallest sides of the carton. This feature adds strength to the walls and in some situations it allows the box to remain open when in its load, saving on sealing materials and time. Tall boxes are most commonly used for long thin objects such as golf clubs, fishing poles, pipes, and carpet rolls and can even be used as a substitute for mailing tubes.
