Problem: A national TV shopping network needed a fully-automatic case sealer that could handle 18 different box sizes, some stable and some unstable. They also had a high volume of pre-sealed boxes and plastic totes traveling on the conveyors and they needed to be able to pass them through the case sealer without taping them.

Solution: A combination side-belt and bottom-belt machine was suggested. The added side belts ensure that the light, unstable cases are propelled through safely. When it’s time to send through the cases that don’t need to be sealed, they simply move the side belts apart, raise the top tape cartridge and remove the bottom cartridge. Only the bottom belts are utilized to pass the cases through.

This sealer runs about 20 cases per minute (based on 18” long case). This extremely versatile machine can be designed and constructed to a customer’s specific container range.
