Because of high temperatures and much condensation, branded labels on bottles can be damaged.

A manufacturer of bottled ciders has learned the hard way the pain of condensation.

Leaving a bottle of Pepsi outside in the sun for hours is not a good idea if you are still planning on drinking it. Not only will the drink be warm, but it will also have a great deal of condensation all over the outside of it.

Because bottles and cans are often packed while they are still warm or extremely cold, adverse reactions can occur. For example, during the summer, ambient temperatures can lead to condensation damaging packaging and resulting in unstable loads. Bottled ciders are pasteurized as part of the brewing process; therefore they are still warm when packed.

The manufacturer noticed that the stretch wrap that they were using was not efficient.

  • Labels were damaged due to condensation
  • Customers were very dissatisfied with the product

In the past, the cider manufacturer used a regular stretch film. Because of high temperatures and much condensation, the branded labels used on all of the bottles were damaged. Oftentimes, the bottled ciders would arrive sitting in a small puddle of water.  Merchandise sitting in puddles of water did not go over very well with the customers.  The cider company needed serious help.

With a different kind of stretch film called Air Flo Stretch Wrap, the company’s condensation problem was quickly solved. The stretch film reduced condensation and allowed air to flow through the wrap. The condensation issued resolved, the bottled cider company no longer experienced the spoiling problems associated with water damage. As a result, they found that their products were selling faster and also looked better on the shelf.
